Coastal Revival
in Annapolis, MD
Tucked away on a point of land in Annapolis, this existing yet unfinished residence offered boundless potential. Equally important to embracing the Annapolitan lifestyle was designing a home that would accommodate the homeowners’ five dogs and five cats. Throughout the design, Purple Cherry Architect’s interior design team took great care in selecting floor materials, fabrics, and textiles that balance beauty and durability.
Upon entry, a three-story foyer leads to a gallery hall that spans the length of the house, offering previews of the waterfront at each opportunity. The library stands out in a vibrant blue, adorned with exquisite millwork and custom built-ins to showcase treasured collectibles and books. The primary suite is a tranquil haven, with a soothing color palette and striking water views. This home nods to Annapolis’ maritime heritage with subtlety, incorporating nautical touches without overwhelming. Other notable features include his-and-hers offices thoughtfully separated to create private workspaces, a nautical-themed bunk room, Chicago brick flooring in the mudroom, and a Dutch door in the back kitchen. The result is a coastal and cozy home, perfect for the homeowners and their four-legged family members.
