Located on a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay, this new home wraps a point of land that offers 180 degree waterviews. The plans were developed as a one-room deep house with each living space of two floors rotated to the adjacent water’s edge. Though large in square footage at approximately 8,000 SF, the extensive millwork throughout both floors adds a human scale to this incredible structure.

Desiring an outcome reflective of historical properties, the owners supported the design concept of changing materials and differing roof forms. This allows the new home to present as though the center structure existed as the original core to the property. The site then developed with the informal curving driveway and parking court nested between the arms of the house. The waterside pool and terrace parallels the large porch and great room creating the major outdoor entertainment area on this magnificent site.
