July 07, 2010Purple Cherry Architects has been awarded with a Maryland Award of Excellence for Marketing/Outstanding Use of Technology by the Home Builders Association of Maryland. The firm uses Building Information Modeling (BIM) (Revit) software on all projects, which provides for tighter coordination and enables contractors to clearly understand design intent. Using the BIM software also enables clients to visualize the complete design of their project in a "virtual computer model" before construction begins. The virtual model can range in development from a schematic massing model all the way to fully detailed and rendered drawings, giving clients a three-dimensional view of their project. Brian Bassindale, AIA, Senior Project Manager with Purple Cherry Architects, says, "The advantages of BIM software to the design community are immeasurable. I would not want to be doing building design work with any other tool. We are honored by this award from HBAM."
