June 21, 2010The Autism Society of America has called on Cathy Purple Cherry, AIA, LEED AP, Principal and Owner of Purple Cherry Architects to present a workshop at their 2010 National Conference to be held July 7 - 10 in Dallas, TX. Her presentation, "Simple Design Strategies for Peaceful Living with your Autistic Child" explores new "out of the box" rules that parents, caretakers and teachers can employ to create boundaries, control hoarding, and minimize inappropriate decisions made by their children on the autism spectrum. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of the simple solutions and non-conventional rules that work to support a peaceful home life. Ms. Cherry said, "I am honored to have this opportunity to speak before the members of the Autism Society of America. I hope the attendees will find the simple design applications that I use in my own home are helpful in creating more peaceful environments for all."
