Purple Cherry Architects Designs New Long Fence Headquarters

June 15, 2010

Annapolis, MD  June 15, 2010 -  Long Fence, one of the region's largest residential and commercial fencing companies, has moved into their new Odenton, MD Regional Headquarters, which includes approximately 60,000 sf of warehouse and office space.  The family-owned business, in operation since 1945, serves the Mid-Atlantic States from Georgia to Pennsylvania.  Mike Ritter, Jr., Vice President of Long Fence said, "We needed a firm that would be able to provide a first class design as well as coordinate the various trades involved from the Design Phase through the Construction Phase.  Purple Cherry Architects met that challenge head on."  Cathy Purple Cherry, Principal of Purple Cherry Architects said, "The main structure is designed to be ‘green'  and incorporates elements such as recycled cotton insulation, renewable linoleum flooring and ceiling tiles made from recycled materials.  As well, the structural steel is 75 per cent recycled.  It was a great pleasure working with Mike Ritter and the teams at Long Fence and Scheibel Construction."  Scheibel Construction was the General Contractor for the project.
